One of the reasons why the Roman republic fell was because of bankruptcy and taxes were really high . Romans were very patriotic and the emperors were no longer wasting money in the nation , they would rather spend it on themselves . The Roman society changed rapidly and the one all the wars with Carthage so the empire was becoming richer and society couldn't keep up . Political fighting was starting to become a problem which was causing tension between everybody and that led to social instability. The middle class people got so poor that they couldn't support the government anymore .
Other reasons are because the Roman empire had too much land so they had to split it in two parts and the western side was becoming weaker . The political problems led to the political leaders fighting and that caused chaos .
